On Sunday, gas prices at Esso were at $5.80 and diesel at $5.97, at Texaco the prices were $5.79 for gas and $6.15 for diesel while at Shell prices were $5.77 for gas and $6.34 for diesel.

Diesel is presently $6.65 and gas is $6.42. We do have a diesel limit of 200 gals, however the fuel barge�s erratic delivery schedule can cause us to stop selling diesel without notice in order to keep fuel for our generators to provide electricity to the island. There is an option for buying diesel at the nearby (5 miles) Berry Island Club.

If you have a cingular gsm phone dont turn it on. period. you will be charged for a call whether you answer it or not at

2.25/per min. more than imarasat or globalstar. you can get intl roaming for 5.99/month but you stil lhave to

pay 1.99 min whether you answer the phone or not. beware. we got a huge bill. I didnt answer the phone,

only calls I was expecting. beware........the bill was more than 186.00 for 5 days and three real calls less than 3 min ea.

Hello everyone - I have wanted to find a good forum for people who love cruising to the Bahamas. I hope this forum takes off and gains support.

I have a 44 motor vessel and go over at least 5 times per season. We have visited many different places and enjoy all the islands from the tourist traps to the desolate locations. I would love to talk about cruising with other Bahamas fans.

Nassau Beware the Swimmer

We talked to someone over the last few days who was at Hurricane Hole and apparently

"the swimmer" struck there breaking into boats. This is most likely the same

"swimmer" who struck at Yach Haven most recently. Someone saw him in the wee hours

of the morning but didn't process what was going on.

Last info we had, all plans for dredging and making bigger on hold. But they last reported that they were

tearing down the condos, so best call ahead for slips due to construction issues which may or may not

impede the marina, I am not sure about that. best call or email, they are quick to respond and have been

really nice about keeping us updated.

Yacht Haven marina, two motoryachts were broken into last night and three undeclared guns stolen, along with video cameras,

clothes, vhf handhelds and a wallet. one boat was broken into whilst the crew were sleeping aboard. One other boat broken into

two nights before.

If you need a alarm system while there. please call us. we have an affordable system that is half the cost of most others and does the same thing.

Please do not bring in undeclared guns as they only make the problem ...

Intruder Boardings in Nassau Harbor

At 4AM and we were just boarded, as we slept, by a naked male.

We understand this is not a single incident. We have heard of boardings at the Nassau Harbour Club and the anchorage east of that location - all hearsay was that cash was taken from wallets.

We are anchored just off the Green Parrot / BASRA.

It appears these are becoming more frequent in Nassau and cruisers should probably know for their protection.

We had the door locked and, after hearing noises, put on ...
